Perspica put semantic diff front and center to tame large AI PRs
Reviewing large AI-generated PRs line-by-line is impractical; Perspica shifts the reviewer’s focus from noisy line diffs to meaningful semantic changes, enabling safer and more efficient code review by surfacing what actually moved, broke, or is risky.

Perspica launched as a semantic diff tool for large AI PRs
Perspica is an open-source Rust-based tool that parses both sides of a code change with tree-sitter to identify meaningful semantic changes like renames, moved functions, and logic changes, ignoring mechanical noise. It supports multiple languages and offers an optional LLM pass to group changes by intent, rate risk, and write summaries. It was created because the author found themselves approving large AI-generated PRs without fully reading them.
